Make plans to see a Drag Show while in Palm Springs

Besides being one of gay Palm Springs’ favorite dance spots, Toucans Tiki Lounge is one of the best places in the city to watch great drag.   The desert’s longest running dragsters, Tommi Rose and the Playgirls, take over on Sundays.   Drag goes bilingual on Mondays at Toucans with Latin Fever Monday with Jesus.   But wait drag fans, there’s more:  Thursdays features the Playhouse with Jazmyn Simone.

Like Toucan’s,
Alibi Azul drags it out three nights a week.   Host “Jersey Shore” gets the week underway on Sundays at noon with Disco Drag Brunch.  One of Palm Springs  favorite drag performers, Bella da Ball, hosts a variety review on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.   Fabeyonce gets the party started on Fridays at 10 p.m. with her oh-so-glam “Homo Estas? Latinas.”

The
Purple Room is the desert’s supper club that takes drag up a notch with The Judy Show starring Michael Holmes as Judy Garland and Judy’s diva “guest stars” who recreate Judy Garland’s famed TV show.  Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. and the show is at 7 p.m. every Sunday

The
Scorpion Room at Chill in the heart of the E Arenas Road gay strip features Sting Variety Cabaret show with the drag host that is so talented she fills three names:   Pinkie Menagerie Shimmer.  She draws a crowd for the show on Thursdays at 8 p.m.

Rio Azul presents the
Desert Diva’s Drag Brunch every Sunday at noon.   The show, hosted by Vanity Halston, sells out fast, so it is a good idea to make reservations in advance.   The brunch and show with an option for bottomless mimosas, is one of the best deals in town.
