Rent a Piece Of History For Your Next Palm Springs Party
Many visitors come to town to revel in the city’s midcentury past. With the opening of TheBank Palm Springs, a new event space, you can take things a step further and host your own private party in a 1955 building designed by renowned architect E. Stewart Williams.
Originally built to house Coachella Valley Savings & Loan, the elegant exterior of the building is a white cube that’s raised one story above street level. The second floor is a huge open space with floor-to-ceiling glass windows covered by operational aluminum louvers. The interior retains many of its original features including black terrazzo floors, a freeform terrazzo staircase, and a circular walk-in vault with a stone facade that’s been reimagined as a VIP room.
“Because TheBank is a full-service, one-stop event venue it’s perfect for out-of-town guests,” says Robert Fountain, a designer, event producer, and one of the project’s partners. “They will only need to interact with our on-staff event designer to create their complete event, thus streamlining the process and leaving them to just enjoy the experience.”
Among the services available are event design, catering, staffing, photography, and more. Guests can also use the services of other event planners and local caterers if they prefer. The 4,200-square-foot space can hold up to 400 people for a standing reception and 220 people for a seated dinner.
Fountain says that the rental rate will range from $8,500 to $15,000 depending on the night being booked. Weekends and high season will be higher than weeknights or low season. “This rate includes the in-house sound system, use of the catering room, a venue manager for the full 12-hour block, post-event cleaning, and security during your event,” he adds.
