Sometimes you find the most amazing things when you’re just surfing the ‘net. I stumbled on the listing for one of the most iconic homes in Palm Springs; the former home of Bob and Dolores Hope. It’s the domed dwelling that sits up on a hill overlooking southeast Palm Springs. I’ve often wondered what it looks like inside, and thanks to the listing I now know… and so do you!

Palm Springs is an architecture lover’s dream. There are many beautiful and important homes that are amazing structurally, plus there’s plenty of houses owned by Hollywood celebrities scattered throughout the city too.

When you see a Double Decker bus touring around Palm Springs, it is a sure sign Modernism Week is happening or about to be launched. The popularity of this event has grown so festivities have expanded beyond one week in February. This event, which provides an in-depth look at architecture from the 1930’s through 1960’s started 11 years ago and attracted 55,000 people last year during the 12 days.

That’s according to Wayfair.com, the nation’s largest online-only retailer for home decor and furnishings. Based on their per capita statistics for Modern-style furnishings sales, Palm Springs easily beat out every other stylish U.S. city - including Beverly Hills and Miami.
